7/21/2013 – Wanted Subject Considered Armed and Dangerous

Sheriff Chuck Smith reported that on 07/20/2013 about 1236 hours, deputies and Woodbury police officers responded to 622 Williamson Circle, Woodbury, Georgia in reference to persons shot. Upon arrival on the scene the responding units discovered three victims being shot at the location. One elderly female victim was discovered deceased as a result from her injuries. Two other victims at the scene being a white female and a white male were discovered to be in critical condition. These victims were transported to the Columbus Regional Medical Center in Columbus, Georgia for treatment. Both were later transferred to another trauma hospital due to the severity of their injuries. The investigation into this matter revealed that a 6 years of age, juvenile had been abducted from the scene as well as the deceased female’s victim’s car being stolen. The juvenile was later released unharmed by the suspect at a residence in Pine Mountain Valley, Harris County, Georgia.
Sheriff Smith stated that his agency is currently searching for the suspect in this matter identified as a Timothy Jody Chambley, W/M, 53 yoa., approx. 6′ in hgt., 140 Ibs., long gray hair that may be in a ponytail, possible beard or goatee, with multiple tattoos, two tattoo’s being described as a cat and the hat on his left arm and a cartoon character with a ? mark above the head with a ball and chain on his right arm.


The subject’s last known address was in Pine Mountain Valley, Georgia. Sheriff Smith provided the stolen vehicle descriptive as being a 1998 Pontiac Grand Am, beige/gold in color, damage to the passenger side of the vehicle with a Georgia Bull Dog novelty tag on the front bumper, bearing Georgia Tag Number DPILBJ (handicap), registered in Meriwether County, Georgia.Additional investigative information revealed that Chambley may now be driving a grayish/blue with a black or dark colored roof 4 door older model sedan. Chambley may also be in the company of an unknown W/F. Chambley may also have relatives in the Powder Springs, Cobb County, Georgia area.

Sheriff Smith stated that his agency is being assisted in the investigation by the Georgia Bureau ofInvestigation, Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Woodbury P.O. and the U.S. Marshall’s. Sheriff Smith request that anyone with any additional information into this investigation or the whereabouts of Timothy Jody Chambley to call his office at (706) 672-4489 or your area law enforcement agency by dialing 911. Chambley is to be considered armed and dangerous.
