Arrests for the offense of Aggravated Assault, Felony Drug Possession, and Violation of Probation

Meriwether County Sheriff Chuck Smith reported that his agency has made several recent arrests for the offense of Aggravated Assault and Felony Narcotic Possession.

“On June 22, 2016 at 11:30 pm. our patrol deputies, investigators and command staff responded to the 300 block of Parham Street, Warm Springs, Ga. in reference to a report of a subject shot. This location being just outside the city limits of Warm Springs, Ga. Upon our units arrival on the scene we discovered that the reported victim had left the location on foot. Through the course of the investigation it was determined that Johnny Dunlap had shot a family member in the leg following a domestic disturbance at a residence. We were able to locate the injured subject walking on Whitehouse Parkway regarding this incident. He was transported to Midtown Hospital in Columbus, Ga. by Meriwether County EMS for treatment of a gunshot wound to his lower leg. Our investigator’s processed the scene and collected the evidence related to this investigation. According to evidence collected at the scene along with witness statements it was determined that Johnny Dunlap was the primary aggressor in this matter. Johnny Dunlap, B/M, 66 years of age of Parham Street, Warm Springs, Ga. was transported to the Meriwether County Jail and charged with the offense of Aggravated Assault under the Family Violence Act.

On June 25, 2016 at around 08:36 am our patrol deputies responded to the 100 block of Alvaton Road, Gay, Ga. in regard to a request for service concerning a verbal dispute. Upon arrival on the scene our personnel began speaking with all parties involved. During the course of this investigation the male subject on the scene who was identified as Joel Douglas Wilson, Jr., W/M, 50 years of age, with an address listed on Alvaton Road, Gay, Ga was found to be in possession of 1.75 grams of methamphetamine. While our deputies were interviewing Wilson he pulled the suspected methamphetamine out of his pants pocket and threw it on the ground. Wilson was transported to the Meriwether County Jail and charged with the offense of VGCSA Possession of Methamphetamine.

On June 25, 2016 at around 1:56 pm one of our patrol deputies conducted a traffic stop on a tan in color Toyota Camry on Washington Street at its intersection with Franklin Street, Manchester, Ga. for a moving traffic violation. During the course of the investigation the deputy detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A passenger in the vehicle who was identified as Kebroshia Kejuan McAfee, B/M, 20 years of age, with a listed address of McCurdy Blvd, Manchester, Ga. was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest for a probation violation. Deputies also discovered during the course of the arrest that McAfee had on his person several bags of marijuana package for sale with a weight of 27.4 grams, U.S. Currency, along with digital scales. McAfee was transported to the Meriwether County Jail and charged with the offense of Possession of Marijuana with intent to Distribute. He also was served the outstanding probation violation warrant that was out for his arrest.” Sheriff Chuck Smith said.

“I appreciate the work our personnel did regarding these case investigations. I also appreciate the assistance that was provided to our personnel by Warm Springs P.D. Asst. Chief O’Neal who responded to the Parham Street incident. He helped secure the scene until our units were able to arrive.” Sheriff Smith advised.
