Meriwether County Sheriff Chuck Smith reported that his personnel and supporting agencies had made numerous recent arrest for the above listed offenses.

“During the later part of December 2015 our criminal investigation division opened a case investigation in regard to an alleged rape and aggravated battery incident that reportedly occurred in the north-east portion of Meriwether County, Ga. At the initial stages of the investigations our personnel had to establish the venue of the incident location. The female victim knew her assailant in this matter. She also suffered a physical injury during the assault. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Jerry Scott, W/M, 45 years of age, address listed as Hwy 85, Senoia, Ga. Scott was charged with the offenses of rape, aggravated battery and battery. Jerry Scott is currently being held in the Meriwether County Jail without bond.

The Meriwether County Sheriff’s Office, the Upson Regional Narcotics Task Force, the DEA, along with the assistance of the Pike County Sheriff’s Office and the Molena Police Department conducted a multi-agency operation in regard to illegal drugs being trafficked in Woodbury, Ga. and the surrounding areas. The undercover operation led to arrest warrants being issued for Andrean Revell, B/M, 32 years of age of Molena, Ga. for the offense of Trafficking Cocaine. Revell sold several ounces of cocaine to undercover agents during this operation. On December 22, 2015 Agents set up surveillance at the residence of Revell in Molena, Ga. in their attempt to execute the arrest warrant. During that time information was received that Revell was in Manchester, Ga. Agents then responded to that area and observed Revell walking down Cato Street at its intersection with Wrightsville Road carrying a small child. When Revell observed the narcotics agents he fled on foot across an open field with the juvenile. Agents were able to apprehend Revell after a brief foot chase without incident or injury to the child, which was later determined to be his daughter. Revell’s vehicle was located on Spruce Street in Manchester. A search warrant was executed on the vehicle which lead narcotics agents to obtaining an additional search warrant for Revell’s residence in Molena, Ga. The residential search resulted in the seizure of additional contraband and a large sum of U.S. Currency. Andrean Revell is being held in the Meriwether County Jail without bond for the offense of trafficking cocaine along with a hold for probation. Revell is on probation for a previous conviction for trafficking cocaine.” Sheriff Smith stated.

“I appreciated the effort put forth by my personnel and all supporting agencies in making these case investigations a success.” Sheriff Smith advised.
