Meriwether County Sheriff Chuck Smith reported that his agency has made two additional arrests for the home invasion and assault of an elderly female victim that occurred on 08/04/2016 in the 7700 block of Forrest Road, Grantville, Ga. Also these two additional arrests are connected to the incident that occurred at the same location on 08/02/2016. This is an update to the press release that was given out on 08/09/2016.
“Our investigators and supporting agencies have continued to track down the remaining leads and interview additional witnesses/suspects related to this case investigation. The investigative results have led us to being able to make two additional arrests and obtain additional items of evidence. We have also recovered the vehicle that was used in both of these incidents and it has been impounded for processing. Based on our investigation we have all of the suspects in custody related to both of these incidents. We were assisted today by Newnan Police Department in helping us track down these two remaining suspects as they are from the Newnan, Ga. area. The two additional offenders and what they will be charged with are below listed:
Mina Christine Ellery, B/F, 17 years of age, listed address of Westgate Park, Newnan, Ga. Ellery will be charged with the offenses of Criminal Attempt Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Battery, Armed Robbery, Criminal Attempt Arson 1st Degree, Burglary 1st Degree, and Battery. Additionally Ellery will be charged with the separate incident that occurred at the incident location on 08/02/2016 where the victim’s purse with contents turned up missing. Those charges will be Burglary 1st Degree, Financial Transaction Card Theft and Identity Theft Fraud when Using/Possessing Identity Information concerning a Person. Ellery is being held in jail without bond
