Meriwether County Sheriff Chuck Smith reported that his agency assisted the Drug Enforcement Administration, (DEA) with the execution of a federal search warrant on a self storage facility in Alvaton, Georgia.
“On March 15, 2016 the Meriwether County Sheriff’s Office narcotic agents, patrol deputies, K-9 unit along with agents with the DEA executed a search warrant on a storage unit at Alvaton Self Storage, Hwy 85 Alvaton, Ga. in regard to narcotic related offenses. The search warrant execution revealed the presence of several ounces of “Spice” dry chemicals, roasting pans with approximately one pound of treated plant material, five pounds of unused “Damiana” leaf, multiple empty “Damiana” leaf bags used as packaging material shipped from a location in China, a scale, twenty-eight empty one gallon acetone containers, and five one gallon containers with acetone. Agents seized the contraband, the manufacturing components and decontaminated the storage unit. Later that morning Federal Agents arrested Denisha Leshay Blandenburg, 30 years of age, with a listed address in Hampton, Georgia when she made an unrelated state court appearance in Montgomery, Alabama. This investigation originated in the State of Alabama which lead to evidence being successfully seized in Meriwether County. This has been an on-going investigation which eventually led to the arrest of Blandenburg on federal charges. Blandenburg was charged with Possession w/ Intent to Distribute Synthetic Cannaboid and Conspiracy to Possess w/ Intent to Distribute Synthetic Cannaboid. ” Sheriff Chuck Smith stated.
