Arrest made on a Traffic Stop with 19 grams of Crack Cocaine Seized

Meriwether County Sheriff Chuck Smith reported that his agency has made a drug arrest related to a traffic stop on Woodbury Hwy at mile marker 18, Georgia.

“On March 29, 2016 around 9:30 p.m., one of our patrol deputies made a traffic stop on a silver in color Mercedes Benz on Woodbury Hwy at MM 18, Greenville, Ga. in reference to an equipment violation. The vehicle was headed in a westerly direction. During the stop the driver could not produce a driver’s license. While the deputy was conducting the traffic investigation and checking the driver through GCIC to verify a valid license the front seat passenger exited the vehicle and took off running on foot. Our Deputy gave chase and was able to apprehend the passenger within approximately 200 yards of the stop location. The subject who was identified as Neco Casanova Bush, B/M, 32 years of LaGrange, Ga. was found to be in possession of approximately 19 grams of crack cocaine. Bush was transported to the Meriwether County Jail and charged with V.G.C.S.A. Possession of Crack Cocaine with Intent to Distribute and Obstruction of an Officer. Bush is being held in the Meriwether County Jail on these charges and a parole violation out of Troup County. Our deputy and back-up units did a good job of maintaining the integrity of the scene and getting this offender captured and recovering the contraband.” Sheriff Chuck Smith stated.
